About Me & My Mission

I’m Vera Hylands, a self-taught artist and creative thinker, interested in the emotional and psychological layers of creativity. Since I’ve had to figure things out on my own, I’ve developed a deep curiosity about how creative energy works — what blocks it, what nourishes it, and how to stay connected to it in everyday life.

My inspiration often comes from nature — colors, patterns, textures, and small visual surprises I find while walking or traveling. I love creating my own prints, experimenting with materials, and combining analog and digital tools. I also recently moved to a new country, so I often see the world with fresh eyes — and that sense of discovery feeds directly into my work.

I’m drawn to storytelling and enjoy inventing characters, metaphors, and small symbolic worlds that bring emotional depth to my creative process. I also see myself as a collector — not of things, but of impressions, colors, moods, and visual moments that resonate with me.

This space is a mix of art, reflection, and process. I share what I learn along the way — not as an expert, but as someone who’s still figuring it out, with honesty, curiosity, and a sense of play.
